Bahona College, accredited A+ by NAAC, is one of the premier institutions of Higher Education in Assam, affiliated to Dibrugarh University. Located in the rural outskirts of Jorhat, the College takes it name from the area in which it has been established. The college is the fruit of vision and labourof a few committed educationists, social workers, leaders and local residents.
Since its inception in 1966, this college has been offering both Higher Secondary and Degree Courses to a large number of rural youths, who in the decades of the 60s and 70s, did not have much access to higher educationdue to poor transport and connectivity to the city. Since then, the college has recorded footfalls of not only the rural students but from the city, nearby towns and districts and neighbouring states. Bahona College is committed to offer holistic education to its students, emphasizing the need for skilling beside the traditional courses taught.
